Three artists will paint to live jazz and funk music by the Dave Elke Trio at New Urban Builders’ newest neighborhood, westsideGreen – Chico’s first Green-Built neighborhood.
Janice Porter, Dylan Tellesen and Cynthia Schildhauer, three of Chico’s finest artists will paint while you watch. A live auction of the spontaneous works will follow and benefit Butte Environmental Council, Chico Creek Nature Center and KZFR.
New Urban Builders will serve up live/work homes, loft living, interesting architecture, art, food, wine and a screening of The Cubicle. This 14-minute award-winning short comedy, rated PG-13 for some language, features an asthmatic mail carrier who has to race for his job. Directed and written by Cory De Lair (recently moved from Chico to Los Angeles), and co-written and music composed by local Chicoan Josh Dietz. The Cubicle received the Best Comedy award from the International Student Film Festival in Los Angeles and was most recently chosen to receive a syndication nomination for further awards by the San Francisco Frozen Film Festival. The Cubicle will be available from Netflix, WalMart, and about 15 other rental facilities and retailers around the country. FREE to the public.
